The French National Gendarmerie is strengthening its digital strategy with Crosscall
In an interview with Crosscall, General Marc Boget, Director of Digital and Technological Strategy for the French National Gendarmerie, emphasised the growing importance of smartphones in security operations. He highlighted the use of Crosscall’s CORE-X4 NEO smartphones, which are gradually replacing older radio terminals thanks to the X-COMM module, as part of the rollout of the STORM system.
Tools designed for operational efficiency
General Boget emphasises the major challenges facing the Gendarmerie: security, interoperability, modularity and resilience. He asserts that digital tools must help gendarmes to be more effective and better protect citizens. He even envisages that these smartphones will eventually replace computers, offering better operability and reduced cost of ownership.
A response to cyber threats and field requirements
Faced with the rise of cybercrime, the Gendarmerie is developing its own operating systems to guarantee the security of its information. General Boget emphasises that information system security is strategic, hence the importance of reliable solutions such as those offered by Crosscall.
This collaboration between the French Gendarmerie and Crosscall illustrates the evolution of law enforcement agencies towards robust and secure mobile technologies that are adapted to the demands of the field and current digital threats.
